How these numbers are worked out
Every figure comes from daily NAVs published by AMFI. Nothing is estimated or generated, and there is no AI involved.
- 1-year return is the change in NAV over the last year. 3, 5 and 10-year returns are CAGR from the NAV on the same date N years ago (or the last working day before it) to the latest NAV.
- Since launch is CAGR from the first NAV. It's left blank for funds launched before April 2006, when AMFI's NAV history starts.
- 3Y rolling is the median of every 3-year CAGR ending on each day the fund has 3 years of history. It depends much less on today's date than a single 3-year return. Worst 3Y is the lowest of those.
- Beat peers is the share of weekly 3-year periods in which the fund's return beat the median fund in the same category and plan.
- Max fall 5Y is the biggest drop from a peak to a later low within the last 5 years. Volatility 3Y is the annualised standard deviation of daily returns. Sharpe 3Y is the 3-year return minus a 6.5% risk-free rate, divided by volatility.
- If a NAV needed for a figure is missing (a hole of more than 10 days in the data), the figure is left blank rather than guessed.
- Rankings list only the Growth option. IDCW returns leave out the payouts, so they aren't comparable.
A ranking sorts past results. It doesn't predict which fund will do best next, and it doesn't include expense ratios, fund size, portfolio overlap or who manages the fund, all of which matter when choosing.
Compare funds

Compare up to 5 funds
Choose funds from any category, Direct or Regular, and see what a lump sum or a monthly SIP would have grown to in each, next to the typical fund in the category and its benchmark. Save a comparison to come back to it; your saved ones sync to your Google Sheet.
Past returns don't predict future ones. Each purchase uses the first NAV on or after its date, less 0.005% stamp duty from July 2020; exit loads and tax are left out. Index values come from NSE, not AMFI, so an index fund's NAV stands in for each benchmark.

Worth, year by year
Your funds
A forecast assumes the same return every month for everything you hold. Real returns swing, differ between funds, and aren't guaranteed. Stopped SIPs add nothing; their money keeps growing. Taxes, exit loads and fund expenses are left out. This is a planning tool, not investment advice.

Ideas to try
Charge a 1% yearly fund expense. In step 1, replace both uses of annualPct with (annualPct - 1).
? annualPct / 100 / 12 → ? (annualPct - 1) / 100 / 12
Add a one-time lump sum of ₹5 lakh in month 36. Put this on the line after let contribution = …:
if (m === 36) contribution += 500000;
Skip every SIP in year 8, say for a sabbatical:
if (phase === 'sip' && Math.ceil(m / 12) === 8) contribution = 0;
Withdraw 4% of the corpus each year instead of a fixed amount. Add this at the end of step 4:
if (phase === 'swp' && (swpMonth - 1) % 12 === 0) swp = corpus * 0.04 / 12;
Projections assume the same return every month. Real markets swing, and a crash in the first few years of withdrawals hurts far more than one later on, so read each SWP result as the outcome for a steady version of that return. Taxes, exit loads and fund expenses are not included unless you add them in the engine. This is a planning tool, not investment advice.

Calculation conventions
Compound means 12% a year really is 12% a year. Most online SIP calculators use r ÷ 12, which works out to 12.68% a year and shows a slightly bigger corpus.
